On the Little Gore Street, in Fitzroy, Australia, Tim Spicer Architects has created a home on the lot where previously a garage was located. The client had earlier owned a timber furniture company, so timber was the major element in the building. Laminated compound beams curve in two directions around the facade and twist vertically at roof level. An open timber stair floats between the inner walls and the external timber skin of the building. Water is harvested from the roof and stored in a 5 000 liter tank, which supports the garden.
